THE VEG MAGAZINE

EDITOR - 2020-2023

“The Veg is a magazine probably dating back to the 1990s and the New Literary Underground movement. The origin of the name is unknown: "somebody else's inside joke." On Halloween and Valentine's Day, the Veg accepts prose, poems, art, and photography with no specific aesthetic restrictions, hoping meaning will emerge organically from what moves. The results include "a record of shapelessness", "a scrapbook of crossed out words", and always something that "fits in your bag like a granola bar", to quote past editors. Read it.”

As a self-taught creative from New Brunswick, I’m accustomed to developing opportunities wherever I find myself - from British Columbia where I studied on scholarship for a self-produced video pitch, to Montreal, where I created and platformed poetry and prose, independent theatre, and student journalism while attending McGill.

Now based in Toronto, I work as a story editor and freelance producer, and have contributed to projects from drama to news and lifestyle with companies like Lionsgate Canada, Shaftesbury, and Corus. I see immense value in elevating underrepresented voices and Canadian content, and am always striving to adapt and find actionable ways to tell stories.
